Oversharing alert!! But it's important for you to know because this is all new to me.

Are you aware that it is possible to be menopausal at 20? Well it is and I am. How does this happen? No idea. I still have lots to learn and more doctors to talk to. What I do know is that it is important to pay attention to your hormones because hormonal imbalances can change your life in a way that startles you later on.

What to look for:

Some symptoms of hormonal imbalances are mood swings, insomnia, painful periods or missing your period.

If you notice any of these symptoms, call your doctor. If your doctor doesn't do it, ask that he or she refer you to an endocrinologist to check if you have a hormonal imbalance. I never did this. As you can imagine, it is pretty distressing to have this condition even before my mother has it. It is important to be vigilant when it comes to hormonal imbalance because if your hormones do not function the way they should, they will impact your health and well-being.
