Puns are everywhere and I probably tell too many.

Welcome readers,

I am just going to say - I really love puns!!!

Sometimes puns are funny, sometimes puns are clever and yes sometimes puns are cheesy. And no, not the gouda type of cheese! hahaha

The truth is, when I tell puns I can go overboard. The best way I can describe it is that I am the female version of Phil Dunphy from Modern Family. I am the queen of dad jokes, but I am not a Dad -- I am a faux pas. See what I mean? By the way, I am laughing at my own jokes.

What is it about Puns? I think they are so funny. It's like I am on a mission to find puns everywhere. I find them in grocery stores, restaurants, magazines, movies and of course the internet. My brain notices them and I can't help but tell people. Its like they make me feel so happy I have to share it with someone else. I am happy right now just writing about them.

I have to tell you, be careful, puns may be funny but you can tell too many. One time I can't forget about is when I was in my first year of high school. I was in grade 9 science class with my science teacher. This is the first time I met a teacher that loved puns as much as I did. He told us pun after pun. I thought he was hilarious. Every time he saw me in the halls or in class, he had a new one. After that, I told more than my fair share. You see, sometimes I can't tell whether I am going overboard. That day I did. He angrily cut me off and said” Alright, let’s get back to the lesson, students are learning and writing tests. Oops, I whispered, “Sorry, I wanted to be funny like you." I felt bad for a long time. I still remember that day. I realize that there is a time and a place for puns but a classroom is not the proper time or place...not that I will always get it right. I still go overboard sometimes. I learned the dangers of telling too many puns. I told one too many that day. I took puns too far.

Puns can also mean inappropriate things sometimes. Which can be fun but you have to know what you are saying and to who you are saying it. The same year, at my old house, I was pulling the weeds out of the garden with my mom and sister and I blurted ” Let’s weed it out!” My mom just looked at me, smiled and said "Let's get back to work." I checked Urban Dictionary and discovered that I accidentally made a pun about smoking marijuana. Thank goodness my mom realized that it was more about the joke ...I guess what I am trying to tell you is to be precarious. There are dangers of telling too many puns and unintentional or inappropriate puns. But still have fun with them because they are awesome.

Need to chuckle, here are some pun-jokes on BoredPanda

Have Puns Passed Their Prime?

My answer is no! Puns have not passed their prime. A pun will only pass its prime only if it is really baaaaaaaaad.
